This position is responsible for providing general administrative support in the CFA statewide office. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Answer all incoming phone lines, distribute mail and send faxes; prepare and send mailings and other shipments. • Maintain a clean, equipped, well-organized and comfortable office environment. • Compile, maintain and distribute multiple organizational lists, calendars, and schedules. • Ensure successful small group meetings by scheduling; tracking attendance; duplicating materials; arranging meetings logistics; and providing administrative support at the meeting site. • Monitor and maintain supply inventory; research purchase options, and maintain office equipment. • Provide office assistance as needed, including filing, copying, correspondence, and anchoring projects.
Skills, Experience and Other Requirements: • High school diploma (or equivalent) AND one year administrative assistant experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information. • Ability to be a “team player” and work with a variety of staff and elected member volunteers. • Ability to operate generally used office equipment and to use familiar software (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, web browsers, email). • Ability to learn and communicate CFA organizational structure and policies. • Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. • Ability to lift 25 lbs; occasional travel and weekend work required. • Typing proficiency of 40 wpm.
Salary/Benefits/Location: CFA offers a fully paid benefit package including medical, dental, vision, pension and generous paid vacations. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement; salary is commensurate with experience (range is high 30k - high 40k); location is Sacramento, CA; some travel required.
